Royal Park - The Last Summer. Photographs by David Tatnall.

Map

Royal Park is the only bushland park in the City of Melbourne - 170 hectares in size, just three kilometres from the GPO. Royal Park is public land and belongs to all Victorians.

The Last Summer Project is a series of large format photographs made of Royal Park, in the summer of 2013 - 2014. At that stage Royal Park was threatened by the massive East-West Link Toll Road proposed by the Liberal/National Party Government. However after the election of a Labour Party Government in 2014 the project was scrapped.

An exhibition of these photographs was shown at fortyfivedownstairs gallery, Melbourne in 2014.

New photographs to honour Royal Park are added to this site regularly.

The Last Summer Project (November 2013 - March 2014) was auspiced by The Protectors of Public Lands Victoria Inc.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People as the traditional owners of this land.
